Hi everyone! I hope you're doing well! Just a heads up that the next couple posts will be holiday-related!

Here in Sweden, nearly everyone celebrates Advent. This means that by the 1st of Decemeber, there are Advent stars in every window of houses! We dectorated for Advent early December as well, and I got to have an Advent star in my bedroom window, as well! Since Advent is a big thing people celebrate, they don't decorate for Christmas until about a week before.

The night of Decemeber 20th, my host parents and eldest host sister, (who came home from Portugal for the holidays!) as well as our cat went down to our local gorcery store where they were selling Christmas trees.

There weren't many left, but we were able to find a good one. My host dad carried it home while my host sister and I watched from afar and gossiped :) Back home, we set it up and let it dry out for a night, planning to decorate it the next night.

The next night, after dinner, we got to decorating! We put on Christmas music and started unpacking all the ornaments, and different tomtar, santas, we would put around the house! It took us a good two hours to get everything decorated, but after it was so worth it! We then gathered around the tree and drank glögg, a mulled wine popular around Christmas and New Years in Sweden, and watched as the free was lit up.

After we sat down and watched The Grinch, which my host mom had never seen before! My host sister fell asleep on the couch in the middle of it 😂 It was an amazing night, and such an amazing way to start off the Christmas season.

Talk soon!

Älskar dig!
